📜 Text of Article 93 (Simplified)

The House of the People (Lok Sabha) shall, as soon as possible, choose two members:

  1. One to be the Speaker, and

  2. Another to be the Deputy Speaker.

These officers shall vacate their offices:

  • If they cease to be members of the House,

  • If they resign, or

  • If they are removed by a resolution passed by the majority of Lok Sabha members.
