“In this Part, the State has the same meaning as in Part III.”

  • Article 36 defines the term “State” for Part IV (Directive Principles).

  • It says that the meaning of “State” in Part IV is the same as in Part III (which deals with Fundamental Rights).


🏛️ So, What Does "State" Mean?

As per Article 12 (from Part III), “State” includes:

Entity Example
